Sony Ericsson to Manufacture Value-line Mobile Phones in India

Sony Ericsson announced on January 30 that it will manufacture mid-range and value-line mobile phones in Chennai, India, by outsourcing the production to Flextronics and Foxconn. These mobile phones, including color-screen models and MP3 phones, will provide features and services tailored for Indian consumers. Commercialization of the mobile phones is slated for June, 2006, with annual capacity expected to reach ten million by 2009.
